LMC adjusts Match Day 8, 9 fixtures

Some match fixtures of the Nigeria Profession­al Football League (NPFL) have been adjusted by the League Management Company (LMC) in view of the involvemen­t of some of the clubs in continenta­l club competitio­ns.

In a memo yesterday, the LMC Chief Operating Officer (COO), Salihu Abubakar informed the clubs that some of the matches originally scheduled for February 11 and 18 have been moved to new dates.

Specifical­ly, the Match Day 8 fixture between Wikki Tourists and Lobi Stars will now hold on Monday, February 12 as against the previous date of Sunday, February 11.

Other affected Match Day 8 fixtures are those involving Enyimba Internatio­nal and champions, Plateau United which was shifted to midweek, February 14 from February 12 and the fixture between MFM and Akwa United in Agege which now will hold on Thursday, February 15.

Some Match Day 9 fixtures scheduled for February 18 were also affected as Akwa United will now visit Lobi Stars on February 28, Plateau United will host Rangers Internatio­nal while Sunshine Stars will host MFM in Akure on the same midweek of February 28. Plateau United, MFM are involved in the CAF Champions League while Enyimba Internatio­nal and Akwa United are competing in the CAF Confederat­ion Cup first round matches but Enyimba, a former CAF Champions League winner was drawn bye.

All other fixtures remain scheduled, the LMC stated. as
