A34-year-old farmer in Kubwa, Abuja, has been found dead in his room by neighbours.

City News learnt that Dikko Ali was found dead on Thursday in his room with two cuts on one of his legs.

A neighbour of the deceased at Kubwa village, told our reporter during the weekend that the late Ali who used to leave early for the farm, after exchanging morning greetings with neighbours, was not seen on the said day, hence his room was forced open, and he was found lifeless beside a pool of his blood.

Our reporter learnt that there was a clash by youth groups in the area the previous day, which resulted in the destruction of some business places and the injuring of three unidentified persons.

A youth leader in the area, Daniel Christopher, who is a relative of the deceased, suspected that his late brother might had been caught up in the fight.

Our reporter gathered that deceased was buried on Friday. the

Efforts to talk to the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kubwa, CSP Ayobami Surajudeen, about the matter were not successful as he was said to have travelled when our reporter visited the station, while his phone’s contact was not going through.

But a senior police officer there, confirmed the incident, adding that the matter was reported to the division and the police approved the release of the remains from the Kubwa general hospital following a requested to that effect from some leaders of the community. Worried by traffic congestions associated with day time repair of roads, the Federal Road Maintenance Agency FERMA has commenced working at night on several bad portions of the Abuja-Keffi road.

The Federal Road Maintenance Engineer in charge of the FCT, Ambrose Omame, who stated this at the weekend while leading a team of engineers and other staff of the agency to repair failed portions of the road, said the decision to work at night was to ease flow of traffic on the busy road.

He noted that FERMA would continue to fix failed portions on the Abuja-Keffi road until the Federal Ministry of Works carried out the planned holistic expansion of the already congested dual carriageway.

He commended the Guards Brigade unit of the Nigerian Army for providing them with adequate security at night and the men of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) for controlling traffic flow.

Omame said FERMA has also cleaned blocked drainages along the road and appealed to residents to desist from dumping refuse in drains which are designed to evacuate water.
