Osinbajo inaugurates MSME clinic in Kogi
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday launched the National Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) clinic in Lokoja, the Kogi State capital, to boost small scale businesses in the state.
Osinbajo said the programme, which is an arm of the Federal Government’s social investment programme, is aimed at giving the people a better life.
He said the initiative is open to all, adding that there is no need to use “connection” to become a beneficiaries of the SIP schemes.
“You don’t need to know a governor or senator or politicians before you benefit. This is the kind of country we are trying to build. A country without corruption or man-know man. You apply, if you are eligible you get picked.
“I’m proud of what happened in Kogi State and the governor for the outstanding works for the people traders, market women, artisans and people with disability. We’ll support and do anything that will help small businesses grow in Nigeria.”
Osinbajo said with the difficulty in small businesses growing, the government brought financial institutions to the clinic to help the people.
Daily Trust reports that the clinic featured series of workshop which created platform for stakeholders and businesses to discuss issues affecting setting up and operating MSMEs in Nigeria.
