Northern elders appoint Ango Abdullahi as BoT chair

The Northern Elders Forum (NEF) has appointed Prof. Ango Abdullahi as the chairman of the Board of Trustees (BoT) and convener of the forum.

The appointment was announced after the forum’s extraordinary meeting held on Wednesday, in Abuja, to deliberate on critical issues concerning the organization and the nation.

A statement yesterday by Mohammed Bello Kirfi, the chairman, Implementation Committee, said the forum approved the new structure proposed by its special Think Tank.

Other new officers appointed to run the organization were; Alhaji Sani Zangon Daura as deputy chairman (North West) Gen. Paul Tarfa (rtd) as deputy chairman (North East) and Amb. Yahaya Kwande as deputy chairman (North Central).

The statement said the forum also ratified the appointment of the already existing 21 members of the BoT and appointed the management board.

The management board included, Alhaji Mohammed Goni, chairman; Dr. Patrick Adaba, vice chairman; Dr Yima Sen, director general/CEO, Dr Hakeem Baba Ahmed, director/ member; Mr Sam Nda Isiah, director/ member; Capt. Bashir Sodangi, member.

Other members of the board were Gen. Sale Maina (rtd), Rev. Bitrus Dangiwa, Prof. S. Bogoro, N. A. Shariff, Barr. M. B. Wali, Engr. Bello Suleiman, Alh. Sani Aminu Dutsinma, Dr Safiya Illiyasu and Dr Halen Jekelle.
