APC constitutes c’ttee to probe Kaduna crisis
The National Working Committee of the ruling APC has constituted a three-man committee led by the Deputy National Chairman (South), Engr. Segun Oni, to embark on a fact-finding mission to Kaduna State.
The NWC, after its executive session yesterday, said the committee was set up to identify the remote and immediate causes of the disagreement and the circumstance that led to the demolition of the house of Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi.
The committee which is expected to report back to the NWC within a week has the APC National Auditor, Chief George Moghalu, and National Women Leader, Hajiya Rahmatu Aliyu, as members.
The party, in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Malam Bolaji Abdullahi, expressed regret over the unfolding situation in Kaduna State.
It, therefore, asked all parties in the disagreement to maintain decorum and give opportunity for true reconciliation.
Meanwhile, the NWC reaffirmed that Alhaji Haddy Ametuo remained the Chairman of APC in Kogi State until the appropriate organ of the party took any other action in accordance with its constitution.
The clarification followed the alleged opening up of parallel party secretariat by Governor Yahaya Bello.
The meeting of the NWC which lasted about seven hours was led by the party’s National Chairman, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun, and was attended by majority of the NWC members.
