Ahouse wife identified as Zulleya Agbaje and her three months baby have been found dead inside their room around NNPC filling station, in Kubwa, Abuja.

A neighbour to the deceased who did not want her name in print told the City News yesterday that the two corpses were found on Wednesday morning.

She explained that the husband of the deceased woman lost his mother on Monday and had travelled to Ilesha, Osun State and when he called his wife over the phone, she did not answer.

“I was at my work place when he informed me that he was trying to reach his wife but she was not answering her calls. So I called one of my daughters who was at home to check their room and on getting there, she discovered that the room was locked from inside with some children crying.

“I then advised her to invite some neighbours on how to force the door open. They initially opened her window and saw the woman laying on top of her baby while her three other children were crying,” she said.

She added that a nurse was called and after examining her she found out that she was still breathing.

“Then her church members were informed and they brought a vehicle that conveyed her to the Kubwa General Hospital where she was confirmed to have died,” she said.

When contacted, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Kubwa CSP Ayobami Surajudeen, confirmed the incident, adding that the division had ordered that the corpses be deposited at the hospital morgue, while the investigation was going on. The management of Islamic Leadership Academy, Kuje, FCT, have called on parents to take the education of their wards serious.

The director/proprietor of the school, Alhaji Musa Yahaya Muhammad, made the call at the 2nd edition of Leadership Day organised by the school with the theme: ‘The role of Muslim parents, school and society in achieving academic excellence’.

Muhammad urged parents to pay the school fees of their children as a mark of commitment to the education of their children.

He lamented that parents presently owed the school N15 million, which he said was affecting the running of the school, explaining that the management depend on the school fees to pay teachers, cleaners, gardeners, and security personnel salaries.

Also speaking, the chairman of Board of Trustees (BOT), of the school, Dr. Aliyu Modibbo Umar, said the main objective of the board was to ensure that the school is properly guided in its mission of providing education to the students in a way that aligns with the mission and vision of the academy.
