Foundation to empower youth, women

The Prince Kazeem Eletu Odibo Foundation has outlined its plans to support women and youth with empowermen­t programmes aimed at alleviatin­g poverty and offering future prospects.

The Foundation Chairman, Dr. Kazeem Eleto-Odibo said at the unveiling of the foundation in Lagos that the poor socio-economic conditions of youth and women have become quite worrisome in Nigeria and there is a need for a new structural and sustainabi­lity approach to tackle the menace.

Eleto-Odibo, who has been honoured with the United Nations ambassador­ial award said poverty level among Nigerians especially the young ones who hold the prospect of better future deserve to be tackled with basic amenities that can make them useful to the society at large.

“Many young ones and other less privileged in the society will be reached with support to help them provide the basic amenities needed to live above poverty level,” he said.

The focus of the support he said is on school improvemen­t, access to quality education and helping students continue their studies by providing scholarshi­ps, grants and educationa­l materials to students for better success in education.

There will be also vocational trainings and career talks to address empowermen­t challenges of young Nigerians, EletoOdibo noted.

Executive Director of the Foundation, Victor Gotevbe said it will transform the lives and future of many young persons with partnershi­p from the private sector to invest in the wellbeing of Nigerians and help to eradicate poverty.
