KWHA wants Kaiama task force tenure extended
The Kwara State House of Assembly has called for the extension of the tenure of the Joint Military Task Force drafted to Kaiama Local Government in the wake of the attack by cattle rustlers on the people of the area.
This is the part of the resolutions of the House, while considering a matter of urgent public importance raised by member representing Kaiama/Kemanji/Wajibe Constituency, Ahmed Ibn Mohammed yesterday.
The Deputy Speaker, Chief Mathew Okedare, while reading the resolutions of the House, said the extension is expedient to ensure total restoration of enduring peace in the area.
The House praised the state government and the Joint Task Force for prompt response and enjoined the state government to come to the aid of the families of the victims.
The legislature also directed its Committee on Energy, Works and Transport to investigate the indiscriminate use of roadside as motor parks by some transport unions in the state capital, following a motion by a member representing Oke Ogun Constituency, Barrister Kamal Fagbemi.
The House also directed its Joint Committee of Commerce, Industry, Women Affairs, and Social Development as well as Energy, work and Transport, to come up with comprehensive report of its findings on compliance with the Peoples With Disabilities law 2017, in the construction of public buildings in the state, within the next 2 weeks, following the briefing by member representing Irepodun Constituency, Matthew Babaoye.
