Hundreds pick APC forms ahead of Kaduna LG polls

No fewer than 100 persons have picked chairmanship nomination forms and another 350 for councillorship forms to contest in the forthcoming local government elections in Kaduna State on the platform of the APC.

Addressing a news conference at the APC party secretariat in Kaduna, the state acting Secretary of the party, Yahaya Baba Pate, said the interest showed by party members was overwhelming.

He said security agencies had been briefed and would soon put a stop to the activities of those impersonating the party’s officials in the state.

He said, “As you can see, the APC in Kaduna State under the leadership of Alhaji Shuaibu Idris commenced the sale of forms for the local government elections since last week Friday.

“The number of members coming to purchase forms has been on the increase on daily basis from the 23 local government areas of the state,” he said.

On the Senator Suleiman Hunkuyi faction who also asked their members to purchase forms for the elections, Pate said, “The so called faction members are impostors, we don’t know them in APC. They are not recognised by the national body of our party; there is only one APC in Kaduna State ably led by Alhaji Shuaibu Idris.”

The state Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Prof. Kabir Mato, said the people of Kaduna State were generally with the government and the leadership of the party in the state.
