The Police in Kano State have arrested three persons over alleged killing of a 35-year-old mentally unstable man in Fagge area of the state.

The victim who was identified as Aminu Isiaq died at the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital from the injuries he sustained after the alleged attack by suspected hoodlums on Friday.

Our reporter gathered that late Isiaq was beaten to coma and had his leg and arm broken.

Police spokesman, Kano State command, SP Magaji Musa Majia, who confirmed the incident yesterday, said the victim trespassed into the compound of one Sanda Maibarewa in Fagge where he was lynched by suspected hoodlums.

“So far three persons have been arrested and we are looking for others, and the ones at hand, we will investigate them to know the level of their involvement in the case after which we will charge them to court,” Majia said.

Two of the suspects, Sani Shehu Yaro and his elder brother, Usman Shehu Yaro, are members of the compound in which the incident happened.

Meanwhile, the case has taken another dimension as a female suspect, Ruqayya Abdulrhaman, accused the police for the murder.

Ruqayya who was in detention at the Fagge police station the night Isiaq was killed, informed his family that he was actually murdered by a police officer in Fagge Division.

Ruqayya who was in tears pleading for mercy when she was being paraded along with other suspects, confirmed that the night the man was killed, he first came to the police station without clothes on his body and was chased off by a police officer.

She said, “When I heard that the man had died I thought it was the officer that killed him and based on that I told my codetainee who later informed the bereaved family.
