HydroPolis to invest N200bn on industrial park in Niger
HydroPolis Investment Limited is to invest N200 billion in the establishment of an Industrial Park in Borgu local government area of Niger State, the Company’s management has disclosed.
Speaking to journalists yesterday in Minna on the project which would be located behind the popular Kainji Hdro-Power Station in New Bussa, HydroPolis’s Project Manager, Hajiya Maryam Usman, said the proposed park would have residential accommodation, commercial and industrial outlets as well as a private university, among others.
She said already 420 hectares of land on which the park would be sited had been acquired, adding that work would soon commence on the proposed resettlement site for those who would be affected by the project.
Hajiya Maryam Usman explained that the resettlement site was so designed that it would consist of accommodation, schools, hospital, market and road network with power supply, among other necessities.
Also, the state Commissioner for Investment Commerce and Cooperatives Alhaji Muhammad Mudi assured HydroPolis Investment of government’s commitment to providing conducive environment for the company to operate.
He said the proposed project would generate employment for the youths and also enhance economic status of the state.
Alhaji Muhammad said the project was one of the outcome of the state government’s effort to attract private sector investments to the state.
