Film corporation begins 1 week training for youths
Over 70 youths from the six geopolitical zones of the country yesterday began a one-week special training in film & television production by the Nigeria Film Corporation (NFC) in Plateau State.
Daily Trust reports that the training which is in collaboration with Edge Consultancy and Tonglexeen Nig. Ltd also drew participants from relevant MDAs as well as film and television stations, production studios and companies to the National Film Institute in Jos.
The Managing Director of NFC, Dr. Chidia Maduekwe said the training was aimed at boosting the capacity of participants.
Dr. Maduekwe who was represented by the Rector of the National Film Institute, Prof. Christiana Best, explained that participants would be trained in areas of still photography, sound recording, camera operations, video editing, image formation and nonlinear editing.
Earlier, the Head of Public and Intergovernmental Affairs of the NFC, Brian Etuk said the training workshop was intended to provide opportunities for practitioners to horn their skills.
“The training workshop is part of NFC’s response to the skills gap analysis of the Nigerian film industry. The training workshop will offer opportunities for film/television and communication specialists to perfectly fit into emerging global trends,” he said.
