Tyavkase happy to take Lobi Stars to table top

Lobi Stars most experience­d player, David Tyavkase has expressed happiness that his goal against Katsina United lifted his team to the top of the NPFL table.

The former African champion with Enyimba FC scored the only goal that gave his team the important 1-0 win over Katsina United on Sunday in Makurdi.

Lobi Stars had won the last away match 1-0 at Heartland FC to the second place before victory over the ‘Chanji boys’.

Speaking to Daily Trust yesterday, Tyavkase said the goal meant a lot to him because it has taken his team to the top of the NPFL summit.

He said it brings special feelings whenever he scores for his team but it is even more inspiring when the goal is of immense importance.

The veteran of the NPFL said he will work harder to score more goals to move Sunday’s to ensure his team continenta­l ticket at season.

“I am very happy that my goal has helped my team to climb to the top of the table.

“I have scored goals before but this one is another special goal because it has taken us close to our ambition.

“I am ready to work harder to help my club get one of the continenta­l tickets,” he said.

Tyavkase also dedicated the goal to gets at least a the end of the his team mates who he said are working relentless­ly to return Lobi Stars to the continent.

He said it will be a thing of joy, if Lobi Stars would end the season with a continenta­l ticket.

“We know what we want for ourselves this season. We shall continue to fight for the maximum points in all our remaining matches.

“I will continue to guide the younger players. I am honoured to be a role model to some of the players,” he said.
