Budget: Fashola, Adeosun 16 others yet to complete defence
Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, his finance counterpart, Kemi Adeosun and 16 others are yet to complete budget defence at the Senate.
A document obtained at the Senate yesterday tagged: “Committees 2018 budget status as at 21st March, 2018” showed that the Minister of Communication, Adebayo Shitu was also yet to complete budget defence.
Also affected were, Lai Mohammed (Information and Culture), Mansur Dan Ali (Defence), Adamu Adamu (Education), Geoffrey Onyema (Foreign Affairs), Isaac Adewole (Health), Okechukwu Enelamah (Trade and Investment) and Suleiman Adamu ( Water Resources).
Others are Ogbonaya Onu Ebonyi (Science and Technology), Kayode Fayemi (Solid Minerals), Solomon Dalung (Sports and Youth Development), Isaac Adewole (Health), Okechukwu Enelamah ( Trade and Investment), Rotimi Amaechi (Transport) and Udo Udoma (Budget and National Planning).
The document revealed that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) are yet to complete budget defence.
Speaking in an interview, the Senate Leader, Ahmad Lawan said the issue has been resolved at a meeting with President Muhammadu Buhari last week.
President Buhari has issued an ultimatum of tomorrow for all ministers and heads of government agencies to ensure completion of budget issues at the National Assembly.
