- From Shehu Umar, Gusau

President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered security operatives to go after the associates of the notorious cattle rustling kingpin, Buharin Daji, who was killed two weeks ago and end the reign of banditry in Zamfara State.

Buhari spoke at a meeting with stakeholders during his one-day official visit to the state to commiserate with the people over attacks by armed bandits that have caused the death of many people.

Buhari said although Buharin Daji had been eliminated, the cattle rustling kingpin was not alone and all the bandits still at large must be fished out and made to face the law.

“The intelligence community must find out his associates where they came from because some one senior to the criminal Buharin Daji was gotten rid of before he was killed after committing so much crime here,” he said.

He said the federal government had concentrated its efforts in combating the menace of insecurity to Northeast but the insurgents were migrating to Northwest, adding that he had spoken to the Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Staff on the matter.

“I will like you to know that there will be improvement before the rainy season but there has to be more effort from especially the police, because in every town there is a police station,” he added.

In his speech, Governor Abdulaziz Yari said they had earlier adopted dialogue mechanism as means of conflict resolution, saying that his administration would ensure security of lives and property of the people.
