Rohr warns Eagles to be wary of Lewandowski

-

Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr has warned the Super Eagles stars to be wary of Bayern Munich goal machine Robert Lewandowski in tomorrow’s pre-World Cup friendly against Poland.

In one of his video analysis sessions, the German reviewed footage of the hat-trick Lewandowski scored against Denmark during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers with the Nigeria squad.

The Poland captain has also netted hattricks in international matches against Gibraltar, Georgia and Romania and Armenia.

“I saw that in the match against Leipzig, he did not play much, he entered the last fifteen minutes. Of course, he must be ready for the end of the season at Bayern,” Rohr said to TVP Sport.

“But it will be a great challenge for our central defenders and for the whole team. We cannot allow him too many chances.

“This morning I showed the team his hat-trick in a match against Denmark. He is an outstanding football player, we have known about him for a long time.

“The whole team must do their job if we do not want to let him score as easily as against Denmark.”

Robert Lewandowski has netted 51 goals in 91 international appearances and is the all-time top scorer for Poland.

Meanwhile, Allnigeriasoccer.com reports that Chelsea right-wing back Victor Moses was one of the top performers for the Team A during Wednesday’s training session at the old lsk Wroc”aw stadium, Oporowska street.

After the routine exercises, manager Gernot Rohr divided the 22 fit players in camp into two groups for a practice game which Team A won 3-1.

Moses only appeared for official activities on Wednesday morning, however, he performed well during the workout and is really showing in training that Rohr can count on him to carry the team.

Rohr hinted that the Chelsea number 15 is the designated penalty taker for the team in the absence of influential midfielder John Obi Mikel.

Moses opened the scoring for Team A when he converted a spot kick, before Leicester City loanee Ahmed Musa scored the pick of the goals with a shot from outside the box to restore parity for Team B.

Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi also scored for Team A.

The Super Eagles had their final training session at the Municipal Stadium yesterday evening.
