Why Nigeria hosts airports council meeting – FAAN
Nigeria set to reap huge economic and trade gains as commercial airports managers across the world are set to coverage on Lagos at the 59th Airports Council International (ACI) Africa board and regional committees meetings & regional conference and exhibition.
The event to be held from April 14th to 20th 2018 is being hosted by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) at the Oriental Hotel Lagos, and will see over 300 participants attend from several countries around is the world.
Daily Trust is also set to provide comprehensive and robust coverage of the flagship conference as a strategic media partner. ACI) is a not-for-profit organization representing commercial airports worldwide. Its structure includes five geographical regions, which include Africa, Asia-Pacific, Europe, Latin America-Caribbean, and North America.
The African region is composed of 62 members from 47 countries managing 250 airports. Nigeria is currently the President ACI Africa executive board.
The FAAN team led by the Director, Commercial and Business Development (DCBD) Mr. Sadiku Rafindadi, also told the Daily Trust editors that a lot of technology and best practices will be showcased during the conference and Nigeria stands to leverage on those solutions to improve efficiency at the airports across the country.
Also the FAAN delegation was the Regional General Manager/Airport Manager, Mr. Mamuda Sani and the General Manager, Corporate Affairs, Mrs. Henrietta Yakubu.
Mr. Rafindadi said “Over 300 delegates are coming and they will be staying in hotels. They will buy our food, our products and other things” he said adding that “a lot of exhibitors are coming and a lot of people bringing innovative ideas and solutions/technologies that will make our airports more productive, efficient and competitive.”
