Commercial sex worker found murdered in toilet

The police in Borno State are investigating the alleged murder of a commercial sex worker found slain in the toilet of a hotel in Maiduguri metropolis.

Two suspects, Yakubu Luka, 39 and Amelia Ka’anfsa, 26, have already been arrested in connection with the crime, Borno State Police Commissioner, Damian Chukwu, said.

Chukwu said the corpse of Precious Needy, who was confirmed to be a commercial sex worker hanging out at a hotel, was found in the toilet on March 25 by a worker in the hotel, Onyeka Ogbonna.

“The case was reported on Monday, 26th March, 2018. Precious was found in the toilet by Onyeka in the pool of her own blood. She is suspected to have been murdered by unknown persons,” Chukwu told officers and newsmen at a monthly briefing in Maiduguri yesterday.

He said the killers must have traced her to an obscure place to perpetrate unnoticed.

The CP said the two suspects arrested by the police - Luka, a security personnel with the hotel who fled to Kano and was trailed and arrested by the police, and Ka’anfsa, a neighbour of the deceased - are undergoing investigation at the state police command’s CID. their act

He said the two suspects were arrested because, “As a security man, you should be able to know what transpires around you; and as a neighbour you should be a good neighbour by noticing whatever happens to your neighbour.”

He said the killers of Precious would be tracked and brought to book.
