Gyang happy as Plateau Utd return to winning ways

The Plateau United talismanic winger Amos Dadung Gyang has expressed his happiness as his club return to winning ways after defeating Yobe Deserts of Damaturu by 2-1 on Sunday.

The winger also expressed confidence that the Jos side would retain the Nigeria Profession­al Football League title despite its present position on the log.

Gyang, who spoke with Daily Trust after Plateau United match with Yobe Deserts at Jos Zaria Road Sports Complex on Sunday.

The reigning champions who NPFL started the game on a promising note took the lead in the 35th minute through livewire Amos Gyang after a goalmouth scramble.

Yobe Desert Stars’ midfielder Philip Asuquo equalized for the visitors in the 45th minute, before Emmanuel Odafe’s strike in the 58th minute restored United’s lead which was also enough to give Lalong Boys a slim victory.

The former Giwa FC of Jos player explained that it has been hectic few weeks for Tin City boys, but with determinat­ion and hard work the club is now back to winning ways.

“It has been hectic and difficult in the past few weeks, things weren’t rosy and we were not winning games, but as you can see we are back to winning ways and more pleasant things are coming,” he said.

The former Kano Pillars winger urged his teammates to give their all and continue fight for the top spot.

“I am confident that we can retain the title, I know it is not going to be easy but we have all the available resources at our disposal. We just need to have a 100% concentrat­ion and be more determined. I want our teammates to give their all, so that we can retain the title,” he said.
