Our captors not hostile to us – Unimaid geologists

The released lecturers of the University of Maiduguri have advised their fellow abductees to keep to their faith, saying the favor they received in the 201 days in captivity was as result of prayers offered by Nigeria for them.

The oil explorers, Dr. Solomon Yusuf and his counterpar­t Yusuf Ibrahim along with their relations during a thanksgivi­ng service at COCIN Church in Maiduguri yesterday disclosed that their captors never hurt them while in captivity.

The three made up of two geologists and their driver as well as women, some of who are policewome­n, were released February 10, 2018 by a faction of the Boko Haram insurgents.

“We thank God for all your prayers. We understood how everyone prayed fervently for us. We passed through dangerous places, we were rescued from gunmen and even snakes. Your prayers preserved us! I will like to tell all abductees to keep to their fate. God really answers prayers,” Solomon Yusuf said.

In his testimony, Mr. Yusuf Ibrahim said many things happened but prayers kept them. “Today, we are testifying Gods’ protection. We thank God that after 201 days, we were freed from our captors. They were not hostile to us, we appreciate them for not killing us and for the kind treatment they accorded to us. You all remember what happened to us on 25th July, 2017. We lost our colleagues to attack, but God save us,” Ibrahim said.
