Motorists laud Dangote over Obajana-Kabba concrete road

Motorists and commuters have commended the Dangote Group for the quality of work done so far on the 44-km Obajana-Kabba road, adjudged to be the longest concrete road project in the country.

The motorists at the weekend said the work that had been done so far had started easing vehicular movements.

A businessma­n, Abubakar Umar applauded the President the Dangote Aliko Dangote ‘great job.’

On his consultant, Abdullahi of Group for the part, A. a Mr. Umar, who normally traveled through the Okene axis, said he now uses the Obajana-Kabba road.

Some of the motorists who spoke to our reporter urged government­s at all levels to partner Dangote Group in road constructi­on.

Commenting also, the Managing Director of AG-Dangote Constructi­on Company Mr. Ashif Juma, said the Obajana-Kabba concrete road project would be completed by December this year as planned.

Mr. Juma said so far, 33-km earthwork and 22-km concrete pavement had been done.

He urged government­s Nigerian at all levels to switch over to concrete road constructi­on instead of asphalt, saying, “It is far superior, cheaper and more durable and it does not require frequent maintenanc­e.”

In the same vein, a statement from the Corporate Communicat­ions Department of the Dangote Group said, “Concrete road lasts longer than asphalt roads and do not have potholes. It saves fuel for motorists and protects tyres from wear and tears.”

It added that the Obajana-Kabba rigid pavement road project was part of corporate social responsibi­lity (CRS) of the Dangote Group Plc.
