Boboye denies quitting U-23 job
Plateau United FC of Jos Head coach, Kennedy Boboye has debunked insinuation making the rounds that he has turned down the national U-23 job.
Boboye, who was appointed as one of the assistant coaches of the U-23 national team, said the report exists only in the realm of the authors.
The ex-Abia Warriors head coach, who spoke through the Media Officer of Plateau United, Albert Dakup, explained that his mind and soul were with the U-23 team, if not he would have rejected the offer right from the day the announcement was made.
“It was an honour for me to serve my country in that capacity and wondered where these unscrupulous elements got this unfounded and baseless report. My mind and soul are with the national team,” he said.
Boboye tasked journalists to crosscheck their facts before going to the press in order not to feed the general public with half-truth.
The former Sunshine Stars gaffer while appreciating the media for their support, also disclosed that his doors are widely open any time there is need for clarifications on issues regarding him and his club.
“I am using this opportunity to appeal to Nigerians for support as Plateau United prepares to face USM Algiers of Algeria in the return leg of the CAF Confederations Cup play-offs next week,” Boboye concluded.
