LASU VC, 63 top lawyers shortliste­d for SAN rank

The Chief Registrar (CR) of Supreme Court and Secretary, Legal Practition­ers’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) Hadizatu Mustapha has announced that 64 candidates have been shortliste­d for the 2018 rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).

The LPPC said yesterday that the list is made up of names of candidates that were successful after the first and second advocates’ filtration, academic prequalifi­cation exercise and the appeal process.

Those who made the list include the VC, Lagos State University (LASU) Prof. Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, under the academic category.

A breakdown of the list shows that 55 candidates were under the category of advocates while nine came under the academic category.

The CR said the general public was at liberty to comment on the integrity and reputation of any of the shortliste­d candidates.

Those on the shortlist include Wole Seun Agubiade, Charles Chukwuma Ogujiofor, Olaniyi Maruph Olopade, Ikhide Ehighelua, Ayo Asala, Oluwole Osamudiame, Kenneth Chukwuemek­a Ahia, Nureini Soladoye Jimoh, Oladipo Adekorede Olasope, Mosediq Adeniji Kazeem, George Chiedu Igbokwe and Essien Essien Udom.

The others include Olabode Olutoyin Olanipekun, Adewale Eyitemi Atake, Jephthan Chikodi Njikonye, Olusegun Omoniyi Jolaawo, Isiaka Abiola Olagunju, Oluseun Takintayo Akinbiyi, Ishaka Dikko Mudi, Prince Orji Nwafor-Orizu, Edmund Chinonye Obiagwu, Ebun-Olu Samuel Adegboruwa, Ibrahim Agbomere Idris, Cosmas Ikechukwu Enweluzo, Sonny Oluchukwu Wogu, Olubowale Taiwo, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, and Adeyinka Patrick OlumideFus­ika.

Also on the list are Chukwudi Nwabufo Obieze, Olayode Olumide Delano, Abdul Olajide Ajanaesq, Robert Egwono Emukpoeruo, Ama Vemaark Etuwewe, Olumide Andrew Aju, Stephen Ojomeko Zakari Adehi, Olusegun Oyediran Fowewe, Oba Maduabuchi, Musibau Adetunbi, Emmanuel Ozoemenam Achukwu, Adekola Adeyeye Olawoye, Louis Maduforo Alozie, Godwin Osemeahon Omoaka, Johnson Olalekan Ojo, and Tanimu Muhammed Inuwa.

Daniel Chukwudi Enwelum, Dr. Olumide Folarin David Ayeni, Richard Oma Ahonaruogh­o, Michael Folorunso Lana, Leslie Arthur Olutayo Nylander,Kingsley Osabuohien Obamogie, Orok Inang Coffie Ironbar, Usman Ogwu Sule, Metong Bertram Robert Urombo, Echezona Chukuwdi Etiaba and Ejike Chukwugekw­u Ezenwa are also among the 55 on the main list.

The nine in the academic category are professors Joseph Efeyeminen I.O. Abugu, Olanrewaju Adigun Fagbohun, Olaide Abass Gbadamosi, Mamman Lawan, Isa Hayatu Chiroma, Oluyemisi Adefunke Bamgbose, Bankole Adekunle Akintayo Sodipo, Muhammed Mustapha Akanbi, and Offornze Dike Amucheazi.
