After PDP S/West rally: APC members sweep Osogbo streets
Members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State yesterday trooped out in large numbers and swept major streets of Osogbo, the state capital, a day after the South West rally of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the city.
The APC members, while sweeping the streets of the capital city and the Nelson Mandela Freedom Park, said they were cleansing Osogbo, particularly the venue of the PDP rally.
They said the PDP members polluted Osogbo and that the sweeping was necessary to prevent outbreak of diseases.
The party faithful were led by the chairman of the APC in Osun, Prince Gboyega Famoodun and the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Bashiru Ajibola.
Addressing participants before the commencement of a road show tagged ‘Cleansing Polluted Land’, Prince Famoodun reiterated need for the exercise.
The APC chairman said Osun people would never allow the PDP to come back because the party had nothing to show for about eight years of the former administration.
Also speaking, the state Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Dr Ajibola said the APC embarked on the symbolic sweeping to also sweep away hunger and poverty brought to the state by PDP. the
Ajibola said the APC remained very solid, intact and ready to defeat the PDP again in the forthcoming governorship election.
He lauded Governor Rauf Aregbesola and appealed to the APC members and the entire people of Osun not to fall for the deceit of the PDP.
Ajibola stressed the need to allow continuity of the APC government so that all the on-going developmental projects would be completed.
