APC congress points to victory in 2019 - Katsina dep gov

The successful conduct of the APC ward congresses at the weekend in Katsina State is an indication that the party is poised for victory in the 2019 general elections.

The State Deputy Governor, Alhaji Mannir Yakubu, stated this while speaking after supervising the congresses in the 13 wards of Katsina metropolitan on Saturday.

A statement by the special assistant to the deputy governor on media, Ibrahim Musa Kallah, said the deputy governor lauded the turnout and the smooth manner the congresses were conducted.

“The success of this ward congress is surely a way forward for the 2019 election. The attitude of the electorate was highly encouraging and is a good indication that the party stands a better chance at winning at all levels in 2019,” Yakubu said.

The statement said all those that participated in the congress were given free hand to contest, saying no complaints or violence was recorded throughout the congresses.

The chairman of the APC in Katsina Local Government, Alhaji Babangida Shinkafi, also commended the national officials of the party for a job “well done”. He said no individual was denied the opportunity to obtain the congress form to contest the election.

Shinkafi said the APC manifesto was duly respected before and during the election.

He appealed to Governor Aminu Bello Masari to maintain the tempo in the next election for the success of the party.

Similarly, the Deputy Speaker of Katsina State House of Assembly, Engr Shehu Dalhatu Tafoki, has attributed the successful conduct of the weekend ward congresses to the maturity and fairness exhibited by Governor Masari.
