Ugbah spearheading Nigeria House project for Russia 2018 - Abdullahi
Nigeria’s Ambassador to Russia, Prof. Steve Ugbah is said to be spearheading arrangements to ensure that Super Eagles players feel home away from home when the 2018 FIFA World Cup commences in Russia.
This was made known to Daily Trust yesterday by the Consultant and Coordinator of Nigeria House project, Alhaji Mohammed Abdullahi who just returned to Nigeria from Russia.
Speaking on arrangements being made to ensure that Nigeria’s hospitality and cultural heritage is well represented in Russia, the former president of Nigeria Traditional Sports said he had toured the cities where the Eagles would play their group matches.
He said when he met with the Nigerian Ambassador to Russia, he gave him all the necessary support which made his assignment less cumbersome.
Abdullahi reiterated that Ambassador Ugbah displayed uncommon interest and commitment to Nigeria House in Russia for the World Cup.
“After the Commonwealth Games, I went straight to Russia where I toured the venues that will host Super Eagles group matches. I am encouraged by what I saw.
“I was opportune to meet with Nigeria’s Ambassador to Russia, Prof. Steve Ugbah who left a wonderful impression on me. In fact, he is the one who is now driving the process.
“Based on the interest he showed in the project, I believe strongly that Nigerians who will be attending the World Cup in Russia would have a good time as far as Nigerian hospitality is concerned,” he assured.
