No petition against Kwara APC congress – C’ttee

- From Romoke W. Ahmad, Ilorin

The Chairman of the APC Appeal Committee for last Saturday’s state congress in Kwara State, Osita Egwuatu, said yesterday that since their arrival in the state on Monday, they did not receive any petition against the congress.

He said the development was indication that all went well with conduct of the congress.

Egwuatu said this while briefing journalists on their assignment in Kwara and what they had been able to do so far.

The panel’s chairman disclosed that as at the time of winding up their activities, there was neither a petition nor protest from any quarter to warrant an investigation.

On the allegation that the state government camped them somewhere, Egwuta said, “Go and tell them, we have been here for three days; this is the party secretariat and we are supposed to be here. We even pasted the information about our activities on the secretariat board, and we are here in the party secretariat, so how could we have been camped?

“The fact that they make such a claim means that they acknowledge we were here. We have not received any petition up till now so it is sufficient to say that all went well in this state.”

Asked who is the authentic APC chairman in the state, Egwuatu, flanked by the two other members of the committee, Jafar Alhassan and Raji Akin-Akingbulugbe, said the details were contained in his report which was yet to be submitted to the party’s national body. an the
