FIFA appoints Samm Audu Official Team Reporter of Super Eagles
The Publisher of SCORENigeria Samm Audu has been appointed by world football governing FIFA to cover the Super Eagles at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The award-winning journalist is one of 32 Official Team Reporters who will be at the World Cup to contribute on the various media platforms of the World Cup organisers.
A graduate of Mass Communications from the University of Nigeria Nsukka, Samm Audu said he is honoured and looking forward to an unforgettable experience both on and off the pitch in Russia.
“The expectations are very high on this young and energetic Super Eagles team going to the World Cup,” he said.
“It’s a massive challenge and if they can go past a tough first round group that has the likes of Argentina and Croatia, the Eagles could be on to bigger things at this tournament.”
The West and Central African sports correspondent of international wire service Agence France Presse (AFP) has covered various major competitions including the 1998 and 2010 World Cups, three FIFA U20 World Cups as well as 10 AFCONS beginning from 1994.
He has previously headed KICK-OFF Nigeria Magazine and website, FourFourTwo Nigeria Magazine and was founding Editor and Director of Complete Sports, Nigeria’s longest running sports daily newspaper.
