Respect Nigerians’ interest, JIBWIS urges leaders

- From Bashir Liman, Jos

The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah Wa’ikamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS) has urged President Muhammadu Buhari, members of the National Assembly and the Inspector General Police, Ibrahim Idris to put the interest of Nigeria and Nigerians in their hearts.

The group, through its National Chairman, Ulama Council, Sheikh Sani Yahaya Jingir, made the plea during a Ramadan Tafsir at Masallacin ’Yan Taya in Jos yesterday.

Sheikh Jingir while reacting to unending face-off between the executive and the legislators, explained that the two arms of government’s confrontation might spur violence in the country.

“No nation can have peace without executive, legislators and police and therefore their confrontation would only lead to violence, anarchy and the masses would be greatly negatively affected. I urged them to put the interest of Nigerian and Nigerians in their heart,” he said.

The cleric also called on President Muhammadu Buhari to wade into the matter in order for appropriate action to be taking.

“President Buhari you are the leader and father of our nation Nigeria, and they said silence is golden but your silence in this matter would only make things worse, and masses would be the casualty. I therefore urge you to wade into the situation in order for Nigeria to move forward,” he said.
