2019: ‘Buhari will get 2 million votes from Delta’
President Muhammmadu Buhari will get two million votes from Delta State in the 2019 presidential election, a stalwart of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Olorogu Emerhor, has said.
He said this in an interview with State House correspondents, yesterday, after meeting with the Chief of Staff to the President, Abba Kyari, at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.
Emerhor who explained that Buhari had done a lot for the South-south, said delivering him in 2019 had become very easy for multiple reasons.
“The great objective we have is how to deliver the president in Delta State in 2019. That is our priority and the ground is ripe for us to take over that state and deliver two million votes for President Buhari in 2019,” Emerhor said.
He noted that the division within APC in Delta was not peculiar to the state, saying: “The issue of congresses and division did not happen only in Delta. It happened across the country, but this is the period of reconciliation. There’s a group that did not work with the majority of the people in Delta. We formed a unity group in Delta that had so many governorship aspirants and leaders working together.
“The Ogboru and Omo-Agege groups put their own governorship aspirations ahead and decided to work separately, but the move we’re making is to bring everybody together, provide a levelplaying field so that all the aspirants will work together,” he said.
