Group search for Buhari’s successor ahead of 2023

- From Isa Sa’idu, Zaria

A group, Muhammadu Buhari Legacies Implementation Initiative (MBLII), has started search for a competent successor for the president ahead of 2023.

The group said there was the need to have someone that would sustain the legacies that President Buhari would leave behind after completing his second mandate in 2023.

The spokesperson of MBLII, Engr. Bashir Garba Ibrahim, made this known in Zaria, saying the group would pay more attention on the youths in their search.

As part of measures to achieve their objectives, the group has started reconciliation efforts among aggrieved members of the ruling APC, especially in states like Kaduna, Katsina, Kano and Niger.

Engr. Ibrahim added that, “Buhari is working for us the youths. This is why we take it upon ourselves to ensure that anyone that would succeed the president after his second term has to be someone of Buhari’s like-mind. We need someone who is patriotic, that would entrench transparency and accountability while running the affairs of the country.

“Under the leadership of our Board of Trustees Chairman, Alhaji Ado Muhammad, we would soon commence tour of states, organise public lectures and seminars. We need to do these because we want to expand the frontiers of this movement. We are open to all who share similar vision to join us,” he said.
