Rep aspirant to challenge Gbajabiamila’s 5th term ambition
An aspirant for Surulere I Federal Constituency from Lagos State on the platform of the APC, Aderemi Banjo, has kick-started mobilization to stop the re-election bid of the current Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, ahead of the 2019 elections.
Banjo, who spoke at a Permanent Voter Card (PVC) sensitization programme organised by Lagos State students, at the Federal College of Education (Technical), Akoka, said time had come for the constituents to replace what he termed “Gbajabiamila’s poor performance in the first, second, third and fourth terms.”
The aspirant, who also hinted that he had written to the party’s National Leader and former governor of the state, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, among other leaders in the state of his intention, also expressed regret over how some voting populace placed premium on what he called, “politics of small buses and motorcycles rather than the performance of the elected officer and how constituency allowances were utilised.” APC members in Abia South Senatorial District have rejected the fourth term ambition of Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe of the PDP and endorsed Sir Marc Wabara.
Marc Wabara is a younger brother of former Senate President Adolphus Wabara.
Announcing the endorsement at Ohambele in Ukwa East Local Government Area, the vice chairman of the APC in the area, Chief Ogumka Adiele, said the endorsement was “to put a square peg in a square hole.”
