Northern group wants PDP coalition probed
The Northern Alternative Forum (NAF) has urged security agencies in the country to investigate allegations that the leadership of the PDP fraudulently included names of some political parties in the Coalition of Unity Political Parties (CUPP).
It said the inclusion of some political parties in the purported coalition had heated up the polity as evident in the way most of the parties were distancing themselves from CUPP and threatening court action.
The chairman of the alternative forum, Malam Gidado Ibrahim, called for a probe and prosecution of key parties in the opposition coalition, including R-APC and nPDP over the alarm raised by the People’s Democratic Movement (PDM), Accord Party (AP) and other parties that their names were mischievously included in the MoU to deceive Nigerians.
“We have engaged our legal team to write the police, Department of State Security (DSS) and other security agencies to probe and prosecute the PDP coalition for forging the signatures of the political parties that cried foul over fraudulent inclusion of their names in the MoU,” he said.
Ibrahim said forgery was corruption and wondered why those who wanted to replace the ruling APC “engaged in such embarrassing desperation.”
He said they wanted President Buhari to win in 2019 because “Neither the ruling APC nor the opposition PDP can boast of a political figure with the willpower to govern Nigeria with its current complexities.”
