Diamond Bank Plc gets new chairman
Diamond Bank Plc, has appointed Mr. Oluseyi Bickersteth as an independent non-executive director and chairman of board of directors.
The bank, in a statement also notified the Nigerian Stock Exchange (NSE) that the approval of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) for the appointment had been granted effective June 26, 2018.
The lender noted that the board unanimously appointed Bickersteth to replace Prof Chris Ogbechie, who retired from the board on March 31, 2018.
Bickersteth obtained a Santrust Securities Limited, has appointed Mr Raifu Siyanbola Babalola as its managing director/chief executive officer.
However, the appointment is subject to approval of the regulatory agency.
Mr Babalola holds a Masters’ degree in Business Administration from Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), IleIfe, Osun State.
He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers of Nigeria Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the University of Ibadan and a Master of Science degree in economics from York University in Canada.
He is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria (CITN).
Prior to being the Chairman of KPMG Africa Practice and National Senior Partner of the Nigerian Practice, Bickersteth was the head of tax and regulatory practice and served as engagement partner on major tax advisory and compliance projects. and Nigeria Management.
Prior to his appointment, he had worked with Integrated Trust & Investment Limited and Negotiable Finance Limited.
