Police arrest 7 suspects over death of tailor in Kaduna
The Kaduna State Police Command, yesterday, arrested seven suspects over the death of Shehu Auwal, a tailor who was killed on July 10 in the state.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Muhktar Aliyu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, made the disclosure to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Zaria, Kaduna State.
Aliyu said Shehu Auwal, 32, popularly known as Doko, was murdered by unidentified persons in the early hours of Tuesday.
The police spokesman said all those found with a hand in his death would be brought to justice.
He appealed to residents to always give useful information to law enforcement agencies to enable them to take proactive measures. NAN reports that late Auwal is survived by one wife and six children.
Mohammed Sani, elder brother of the deceased, said it was the late Auwal’s wife that raised the alarm that her husband had yet to return home since Monday night when he left for a meeting.
He said late Auwal left home on Monday night where he attended a political meeting alongside his fellow politicians at Tudun Wada, Zaria on the fateful day. Sani said they quickly called his friend whom they went out together, making inquiries of his whereabouts.
He said his dead body was later recovered at Kofar Doka along Jos road in Zaria.
He said Auwal was a professional tailor doing business with many prominent personalities.
