- From Christiana T. Alabi, Kaduna From Romoke W. Ahmad, Ilorin

The secretary of Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF), Mr Anthony Sani, has cautioned political leaders from the northern part of the country to thread softly in their dealings with President Muhammadu Buhari so as not to frustrate his re-election chances.

The ACF scribe expressed disappointment with the recent happenings in the political scene, saying it would be the fault of the North if Buhari does not succeed.

Sani made the statement while receiving staff of Media Trust Limited on a condolence visit to the ACF office over the death of its chairman, Ibrahim Commassie.

He said the fact that the president and most of the players were from the northern part of the country, it behoved on political leaders from the North to support the president to succeed.

“Saraki, Dogara are all from the North and belong to the same party Governor Abdulfatah Ahmed of Kwara State has hinted that he might quit the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). The governor, an ardent disciple of Senate President Bukola Saraki, said the APC did not meet the expectations of people of Kwara State. Governor Ahmed made this known yesterday at the State Banquet Hall, Ilorin while reacting to requests of various stakeholders in Kwara Central Senatorial District, prevailing on him and the Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki to with the president. They should support Buhari and not allow him to fail because if he fails, it would be said that the North has failed,” he said.

Commenting on the late Commassie, Sani said his sickness slowed down activities at the forum as he used to be a very active leader.

The regional manager of Media Trust Ltd., Danjuma Isa Oboni, said the team was at the ACF office to sympathize with the forum over the death of its chairman.
