Buhari support group passes vote of confidence on Sheriff
The National Executive of the Presidential Support Committee (PSC) has passed a vote of confidence on Senator Ali Modu Sheriff as the director general of the group.
Coming out of its NEC meeting in Abuja on Tuesday, which was chaired by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the President on Political Affairs, Gideon Samani, the committee, made up of over 300 Buhari support groups, reaffirmed Sheriff as it’s leader after a motion by Senator Kabiru Marafa (APC, Zamfara) which was seconded by Senator Florence Ita Giwa (Cross River).
Samani said the objective of establishing the PSC was to have an interim measure of getting people who were die-hard supporters of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration to begin to sensitise the masses on the achievements of the administration.
He said the committee would also work with the national leadership of the APC to resolve all issues that came out of the wards, local governments and states’ congresses of the party.
He added that that would be achievable with the calibre of persons that formed the national executive of the PSC, including six serving senators, nine former ministers/ senators, and several members of the House of Representatives who were all in attendance at the meeting.
Also speaking with journalists, Senator Marafa said the negative narratives and misgivings about the committee should be corrected to achieve the desired goal of re-electing President Muhammadu Buhari in 2019.
