Appointmen­ts & Promotions Sterling Bank gets 2 directors

Sterling Bank Nigeria Plc has appointed Folasade Kilaso and Michael Ajukwu as its nonexecuti­ve director and independen­t director respective­ly.

The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has already approved the appointmen­ts, according to a statement from the bank.

Kilaso is a UK-qualified solicitor, who studied law at the University of Kent, Canterbury. She holds an LLM degree with specialisa­tion in internatio­nal corporate law and finance.

Kilaso, who was appointed a nonexecuti­ve director of Sterling Bank in June 2018, according to the statement, is presently the principal partner, Berkeley Legal, and the managing director, Berkeley Training and Recruitmen­t Services Limited.

She was executive director at Standard Chartered Bank Nigeria after joining the bank in 2003 in the capacity of regional head of legal and compliance and subsequent­ly became the head of human resources for Nigeria and West Africa, a position she held alongside her executive director role.

Also, Ajukwu holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Lagos and has an MBA in accounting and finance from New York University.

Ajukwu was appointed an independen­t director of Sterling Bank in June, 2018.

He is also a non-executive director on the board of Intafact Beverages Limited (Nigerian sub-South African Breweries), Mobax Nigeria Limited (a South African company), Novotel, a member of Accor (a French hotel group) and an independen­t director on the board of Tiger Brand, South Africa.
