The police in Lagos have arrested seven persons for allegedly attacking lodgers in a hotel in the Ajah area of the state. Daily Trust learnt that the suspects stormed the hotel in Royal Garden Estate, Ajah, on July 10, 2018 at about 1.30am.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who confirmed the arrest, said the police got information from a credible source that some armed robbers had invaded Plot D50, Royal Garden Estate, Ajah, Lagos.

Edgal said that the marauders held the occupants of a storey building hostage and dispossessed them of properties estimated at N15 million at gunpoint.

“On receipt of the information, operatives of FSARS and the command mobilized quickly and went to the scene. On sighting the operatives, the robbers took to their heels but luck ran against two of them, Joseph Paul Aji and Ekpemandu Kingsley, who were arrested at the scene.

“All the stolen items, including their operational motorcycle, a Sinoki Supra motorcycle, registration number KJA 342 QH, were recovered at the scene,” he said.

Edgal said that during interrogation, the suspects confessed to the crime and led operatives to their hideout where other members of the gang were arrested.

Those arrested are Abraham Emmanuel, Joseph Paul Aji, Nathaniel Emmanuel Nath, Samuel Gabriel, Ekpemandu Kingsley, Adamu Salisu and Abdulazeez Garba and Mahmud Usman.

He said that exhibits recovered from them included one cut-tosize locally-made single-barrel gun, one live cartridge, one plier, Army camouflage T-shirt and cap, pair of military boots, assorted charms and the Sinoki Supra motorcycle.
