The Nigeria Postal Service says it will revisit non-performing consultancy services and contracts not executed in its training institutes.

NIPOST Governing Council Chairperson Maimuna Yahaya Abubakar, said this yesterday in Benin when she led other board members on an inspection tour of its training institute.

“We are going to revisit the issue of contract awarded that were not executed , issue of consultancy that were entered into before us which are non-performing we are going to revisit everything to make NIPOST work.

“The state of infrastructure at the NIPOST’s training Institute is very bad, It seems, it is like an abandoned project. The institute is really gold mine to the nation if serous attention is given to it.We are going to meet with the minister of communication and the federal government to see what we can do about it.

“As a board, we will make polices that will change the face of the institute. We need to look at what is happening in NIPOST, their challenges and the way forward,” she said.

Earlier, the director of the training institute, Simon Emeje, said infrastructure was needed to function effectively.

On his part, the NIPOST Zonal Manager, South South, Benin headquarters, Abubakar Usman, said the zonal office was ranked third across the country in terms of revenue generation.
