31-man national rugby team off to Niger Test

The Nigeria Rugby National Team left the country’s shores yesterday to Niamey, Niger for Internatio­nal Test match against Niger Republic.

This follows the conclusion of a fourday camp at the High Performanc­e Centre in Abuja under the watchful eyes of the newly appointed National Coach Mr. Bronson Weir.

The 31 Man team made up of 23 players and eight officials left by road for the Rugby Africaorga­nised Internatio­nal Test match on Saturday.

Coach Mr. Bronson Weir, who took charge of the three intensive training sessions of team, has selected his 23-man team that will prosecute the rugby encounter.

President of the Rugby Federation, Mr. Kelechi Mbagwu is leader of the 31-man delegation. Other members of the entourage are the Technical Director Mr. Ntiense Williams, the Head Coach Mr. Bronson Weir, three technical board members Mr. Joseph Ofoha, Mr. Ghanga Hammed and Mr. Mohamd Salisu, the team Assistant / logistics officer Mr. Simon Joseph, and Mr. Michael Adah.

The players are Azeez Ladipo (Captain), Adesina Abduljelil­i, Adebayo Tobi, Sunday Bassey, Tunde Adewale, Sodiq Oduola, John Kura, Dina Otoro Godwin, Samuel Ekpo, Isaac Sani, Hassan Mohammed, Monday Omorogieva, Onoru Jatto, Christian Ogar, Ezekiel Tom , Alfred Oche, Felix Adebayo Flank, Adebambo Remilekun, Ibrahim Suraj, Onome Richard, Joshua Etim, Nuhu Samaila and Promise Anosike.
