D’Tigers ready for Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire, CAR — Nwora

D’Tigers coach Alex Nwora has said that the team will come out strong their Group B opponents at the 2019 FIBA World Cup qualifying, which dunks off on Friday.

The Nigeria senior men national basketball team is pitted in the same group former African Champions, Senegal, Cote d’Ivoire and Central Africa Republic.

Speaking during an interview with newsmen ahead of the qualifiers after a training session held at the National Stadium in Lagos, , Nwora however assured that with the calibre of their opponents, the D’Tigers will leave no stone unturned to continue with their winning streak.

“It is very difficult, I have to be honest but at all the windows, everybody look at, they don’t know how the logistic goes on but our team manager does a great job to make sure that we have all the players for all the windows by Musa Adamu with the help of the federation, at the end of the day, we have a enough people to fight with.

“We went there, we have scrimmaged them before last window in Ivory Coast they are a very good team, well coach, they have a lot of good players. Is going to be a dogfight, all these teams are coming with their best players. We have almost our entire best players.

“We are going to be ready. I am scoring them as much as have seen them play. We played against them in the nation cup in Tunisia and also Afrobasket,” he said.

Also he said the match will avail the opportunit­ies to test the players.

“I have seen Central Afrique play, you know they have new player, Senegal, they have a very big well coach, they have all their players for this window that will be a very good test for us to see where we are. We accept the challenge, we are playing at home. Hopeful in our hard work and show through at the end of the competitio­n,” he said.
