Kaduna health college lecturers taking cash for marks — Provost
Acting Provost of the Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi, Malam Yakubu Arrigasiyyu, has revealed that some lecturers of the institution take cash from students for examinations.
He said names of the lecturers already “tracked down” for the act would be published and forwarded to the disciplinary committee for necessary action Arrigasiyyu revealed this yesterday during an interactive session with the staff of the college, warning those involved to desist from the act or face the wrath of the law.
He said: “Some lecturers in the college give leakages to students to pass examination after paying in cash or in kind. We are tracking this and whoever is caught will face the wrath of the law. Already, the security personnel are tracking some people. The names of the affected lecturers will be published and forwarded to disciplinary committee for necessary action.”
Arrigasiyyu buttressed his point with a case of a lecturer who wanted to have an “affair” with a married woman for him to assist her pass his course, saying that the case was being handled by the college’s disciplinary committee.
He said the essence of the session was to get staff input on the best way to run the college for effective service delivery.
Acting Registrar of the college, Ibrahim Hassan, said the session would lead to development of an action plan that would assist the growth of the institution.
