Aiteo Cup: Pillars, Enyimba clash is final before final – Musa

- By David Ngobua

The Technical Adviser of Kano Pillars, Ibrahim Musa has described as final before the final his team’s quarter-final clash with Enyimba FC in the ongoing Aiteo Federation Cup.

While Enyimba topped the Gombe Centre, Kano Pillars emerged runners-up at the Lagos centre behind Kwara United to set up the quarterfinal clash with the elephants’ at the stadium in Gombe.

Obviously, the two teams are among the top guns in Nigerian football and expectations are high that Gombe football fans will be entertained maximally when the make or mar match is played.

The match was moved to next week due to Enyimba’s continental engagement with ‘people’s Pantami Raja Casablanca tomorrow in Aba.

In a chat with Daily Trust yesterday, the coach said any of the two teams that wins the quarter-final would go all the way in the competition.

Musa said Enyimba and Pillars have the quality to win this year’s Aiteo Cup as he said both teams parade some of the best legs in Nigerian football.

“To be honest with you, our quarter-final match with Enyimba is final before finals. It is going to be a very difficult match.

“The two teams have good players. We parade some of the best players in the domestic league and the same applies to our opponents.

“I am expecting a good match. I want to put it on record that whoever wins this match will reach the finals.

“It is rather unfortunate that the fixtures have denied Nigerian football fans the opportunity of watching two of the best sides in Nigerian football in the finals,” said coach Musa.

The coach therefore said Pillars will give everything to surmount the big hurdle before them to reach the grand finals.
