We’ll cash in on APC crisis – Niger PDP
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger state says it will cash in on the current crisis trailing the outcome of the All Progressives Congress (APC) primaries ahead of the 2019 general elections state.
The state chairman of the party, Tanko Beji, stated this in Minna on Tuesday while briefing newsmen on the just-concluded primary elections into all elective offices in the state.
He said the raging misgivings over the primaries were a clear manifestations that the ruling party was not prepared for governance.
He said unlike the ruling party, PDP's primaries from presidential to the state houses of assembly position were rancorfree, saying that was a confirmation that the party was battle-ready for the 2019 elections.
"We believe that internal democracy starts from the party, PDP is now a reformed party ready to take over power at all levels. We have learnt our lessons, the era of impunity is over in PDP", he noted.
According to him, the PDP is the only political party that has the capacity and the experience to rescue the country from its current predicament.
He said that regardless of the criticism that trailed the outcome Port Harcourt convention of the party that produced Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the party’s presidential candidate, it remained the best convention ever organized by any political party in the country.
"What is expected of all the party members now is to remain united to fight a common course for ensuring victory at the general elections", he said.
