Ex-Ranch Bees player Alkali eyes greener pastures in Europe

- By David Ngobua

A former Ranchers Bees striker, Nathaniel Alkali has said he is ready and eager to play professional football in Europe.

The former Flying Eagles invitee told Daily Trust that having honed his skills in the Nigerian domestic league with Ranchers Bees of Kaduna and some amateur clubs in the country, he is ripe enough for professional football abroad.

Alkali said it is the dream of every good player to seek for greener pastures in Europe because that is where football is run professionally.

He said his agent Mercel Popescu is working assiduously to get him a deal in one of the European clubs that truly appreciate African talents.

Alkali said although he got an offer in Europe, his agent decided he should wait for the deal he is trying to tidy up for him.

“After playing for Ranchers Bees, the time has come for me to move abroad. Some of my former team mates have since moved to Europe but I will soon join them.

“I want to play in Europe because that is where football is managed professionally. This is why almost every good player dreams to play abroad.

“My agent is working on something. Once the next transfer window in Europe opens, I am sure of getting something. I may not start at the top but I will surely get there.

“I am confident that things will work in my favour because God is by my side. God’s time is the best,” said Alkali.
