Air Force trains 538 personnel on ‘combat readiness’

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) at the weekend concluded a fiveday training exercise on combat readiness as well as search and rescue operations for its 538 personnel at the Citizeship and Leadership Training Centre in Shere Hill Jos, the Plateau State Capital.

The personnel who participat­ed in the training exercise Included airmen basic and regiment officers. It was organised by the NAF Regiment Training Centre, Kaduna.

Speaking at the event, the Air Officer Commanding Ground Training Command Enugu, Air Vice Marshall Ismail SadiqueKai­ta, said the training was to increase capabiliti­es of personnel to meet up with the present security challenges in Nigeria.

The training, he said, was also meant to test the airmen and officers’ ability to overcome difficult situations, endurance and competency in the course of performing their duties.

AVM Sadique expressed satisfacti­on with the conduct of the airmen and officers during the training exercise, saying that the training should charge them to be dedicated, focused and steadfast in their line of duty.

He commended the management of the Citizeship and Leadership Training Centre for providing the enabling environmen­t for the success of the exercise.

Activities and programmes carried out during the training included airborning , parachutin­g and drilling that will make the airmen and officers physically and mentally alert.
