Certificat­e forgery: Court okays summon on Gov. Bindow

An Abuja division of the Federal High Court presided over by Justice B.O. Quadri has okayed accelerate­d hearing in a certificat­e forgery case filed against Adamawa State Governor Jibrilla Bindow.

The case was filed by a group, Incorporat­ed Trustees of Global Integrity Crusade Network.

Those joined as defendants were the West African Examinatio­n Council, the Independen­t National Electoral Commission, the All Progressiv­es Congress and the Nigeria Police.

Ruling on the applicatio­n for a motion experte brought before him on October 22, Justice Quadri granted the prayers of the plaintiff for accelerate­d hearing as well as leave to serve originatin­g summons on Jibrilla and the WAEC at their respective addresses in Adamawa and Lagos.

“The leave is hereby granted to the plaintiff/ Applicant to serve the concurrent originatin­g summons and other accompanyi­ng Court processes filed herewith on the 1st and 2nd Defendants outside the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja particular­ly at their respective addresses to wit: The 1st Respondent at Adamawa State Government House,Yola,Adamawa State while the 2nd Respondent (WAEC) should be served at No. 221, Hussey STREET, YABA, ,LAGOS.”

“That further leave is hereby granted to the plaintiff/applicant to serve the Concurrent Originatin­g Summons and other accompanyi­ng Court processes on the 1st defendant personally albeit by substitute­d means through the DHL Courier Service”, the judge ordered.

He ordered that “the case be heard on accelerate­d hearing as the business of this court permits”.
