Assets: FG files fresh charges against Senators Uzodinma, Oduah
The Federal Government has filed criminal charges against Senators Hope Uzodinma and Stella Oduah before the Federal High Court in Abuja over alleged nondeclaration of assets.
The two count charges each were filed on behalf of the Federal Government by the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property (SPIP) led by the Special Adviser to the President on AntiCorruption, OkoiObonoObla.
Daily Trust learnt on Tuesday that the charges against Oduah have been assigned to Justice IjeomaOjukwu, while those filed against Uzodinma are assigned to Justice BabatundeQuadri, all in the court.
According to the charge, Senator Uzodinma was alleged to have on or about the 5th day of March 2018 refused to declare his assets before the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Abuja, contrary to and punishable under Section 3 (3) (1) (a) of the Recovery of Public Property (Special Provision) Act 2004.
Similarly, Senator Oduah was alleged to have on or about March 29 refused to declare her assets before the Special Presidential Investigation Panel for the Recovery of Public Property, Abuja contrary to and punishable under Section 3 (3) (1) (a) of the Recovery of Public Property (Special Provision) Act 2004.
No dates have been fixed for the arraignment.
