Shettima allocates land to civilian JTF

Borno State Governor Kashim Shettima yesterday met with 103 members of the youth vigilante, groups popularly known as Civilian JTF, who were just recruited into the Nigeria Army.

During the meeting in Maiduguri, Shettima assured them of his and the government’s support at all the times, directing the Commission­er of Lands and Survey to allocate a plot of land to each of them.

He also announced cash and food items’ assistance to them.

“The emergence of the Civilian JTF brought about a cordial relationsh­ip between the civil populace and the military in Borno state,” he said commendedi­ng them of their efforts to bring peace in the state and the country as a whole.

“I urge our teaming youths to get enlisted into the Nigerian Army,” he added expressing gratitude to the Nigerian Army for enlisting the Civilian JTF into their service.

“I also thank the military for their sacrifices in bringing peace to our land,” the governor said.

While commmendin­g President Muhammadu Buhari, the military and other security agencies in the fight against insurgency, Shettima promised to communicat­e with the concerned military authoritie­s for their deployment to their home state, saying their contributi­ons to the restoratio­n of peace could not be forgotten.

Earlier, the Borno State Attorney General and Commission­er for Justice, Barrister Kaka shehu Lawan, had informed the governor that 103 members if CJTF were successful­ly enlisted into the army.

“Following your directive that we shall procure recruitmen­t forms for the members of the Civilian JTF, we are successful­ly enlisted 103 of them into Nigerian Army and they are here to pay you thank you visit,” he added.
